Try and place all the appropriate update files into your recovery file and hold R trigger during boot up to access recovery menu and launch recovery eboot. That will reinstall flash0 files. Other wise pandora and mms to get a fresh flash0 and firmware on your psp.

Will people please understand a few things:

1. Xenogears' post. You are breaking the maxconsole rules AND the law.

2. Flashing someone elses flash0 files to your psp will BRICK IT. I seem to be writing this at least once a day at the moment.

3. Why can't you just reinstall the firmware? That gets you the flash0 files back in the way it is supposed to be installed with all the usual safety checks to stop you doing something stupid, like flashing someone elses files to your PSP and bricking it.

Now, if i see a post by you asking how to unbrick without a pandora battery i will laugh at you because you didn't a) research what you are doing properly and b) messed with something you don't understand without a lifeline (pandora) to fix it if/when you screw up.

Hi
Sorry for the question...but how I can reinstall the custom firmware?
I have a fat psp with 3.90M33-2 + 1.50v2 subset and if I click again on the eboot of the 3.90M33 installation, the psp tell me that there is no need to upgrade and don't let me start the new installation.
Please let me know as soon as possible...it's important
thanks

The reason for this is because the slim's flash0 is twice as large an contains more files than the fat version (for example: skype's modules). You should use a flash0 backup from a fat model. Try searching for it on Google.

Because the latest M33 (3.980+) uses the online updater you can't do it that way. There is a topic about creating a recovery eboot to be used from the recovery menu.

I read in that link but there is no answer to my question. I mean, I need to re-install the 3.90M33 from a skinned 3.90M33-2. I don't need to start the recovery from the XMB. But to start a new installation that could restore the original flash0 cause I forgot to backup it when I flash the skin.
I don't know how to do that.
There is any kind of guide that explain how I could do it?

you need to reinstall the entire firmware. You are most likely not going to be able to fix this. Just reinstall it with pandora for example and then you can fiddle with skin stuff again....

you can get into recovery? if so then read up on that. if not, then pandora only.

I enabled CXMB 3.1 and used a ctf theme, I only made a flash0 backup when I was going to change the game boot. When I made the backup I was using the a ctf theme. My questions are:
Is it ok to do backup or should I disable the plugin first??
From what I understand the plugin shouldn't affect flash0 right??
And where do I get the other 2 folders (kd and data) of the falsh0??
I don't have them. I made the backup on 3.90m33-3

Flashing someone else's Flash0 won't brick your PSP... Flashing someone else's IDStorage however will...

Also this is a stupid thread... just re-install your firmware, problem solved...

Here is a 3.90 M33 backup. The only thing is that it has a custom theme.
http://www.mediafire.com/?9aela379vdy
And yes it is from my phat. I think it is the the first version.

If it is I would recommend accessing your flash0 format it with your pc, then copy the files over. That will give you a clean install of my backup. Keep in mind this would be dangerous if your psp lost power. I don't know what would happen if you were to have the usb cable to come unplugged though. That should be fine though. I have personally done this about 5 times to downgrade my psp to 3.80m33-5, which I also have a backup of. I will include it below as well if you decide to do what I just said.

How many times is it in the past few weeks people keep deleting their flash?
Hey Everyone! It's ok to delete your flash0. Go ahead! It makes more room for custom themes. Especially on a faT.

WTF>WTF><WFW>WFTWF<>WFWK>?FTWF>WFTWF>WFTFW>WF>FWTW>>?

actually you do need your flash0, however deleting it won't brick your PSP to an unrecoverable state...

(Shh. I was being fasicious.) Yer funny. Oh. And flashing other peoples nands is ok too! Also, um, all that gubberish about needing to have a backup of your nand, not necessary.

PSP is a magical device that will work no matter what you do to it. la la la. LMAO.

Oh. I'm supposed to put up (Sarcasm), aren't I.

My remark was about the absurdity all of the people who have been doing this lately. Which is why I argue that CFW isn't for everyone. Some people feel it is their duty to "inflict" cfw on people. And people who can't get CFW!?
Must not be intelligent enough(period).
This stuff isn't hard.
I had no problem hardmodding my battery and using the autoinstaller.

[And further more] We need those people (for whome CFW is not) to buy games. We need lots and lots of people to be without custom firmware to keep the sales and revenue up to fund development of better games and IPs.
It is for the elite. Not everyone.
